Yesterday, nearly 600,000 people were evacuated as Typhoon Talim ploughed into southern China, packing winds of up to 114mph..." news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=1875812005The Chinese evacuated 600,000 people before Typhoon Talim YESTERDAY. It's not like most of those people have cars. Yet the Chinese were prepared. www.boston.com/news/world/asia/articles/2005/09/01/typhoon_hits_coastal_china_600k_evacuated/Meanwhile, in this country, Patrick Rhode, FEMA's deputy director, insisted that "this has been probably one of the most efficient and effective responses in the country's history." www.nytimes.com/2005/09/02/national/nationalspecial/02response.html?pagewanted=3I see one country whose leaders aren't delusional, and it's not ours. Typhoon Talim. USA bested by the "commies". Hang your heads in shame, FEMA hacks. It's over, people. I pledge allegiance to President Hu. Maybe he can annex us when he visits next week. Only the cartoon squirrel has it figured out. www.illwillpress.com/kat.html

I think one of the difference here is that the Chinese government "ordered" the evacuation, and no one in the US is going to "order' an half a million people to evacuate. Also they were in different provinces not in one city.

What a comparison, in China if the people didnt want to leave they just shoot them in the back.
