I am so glad to hear you have contact with someone who stayed in Kenner. I have an aunt there and the last we heard she wasn't leaving. That was at 7:00am on Monday. Could you ask your freinds if they know anything about the area between the 10 and the north side of the airport. Specifically Kingston @27 TH. Any information would be better than what we have. Thanks and good luck to your freinds.

I have visited that area. Today to be exact. Susan Park did not get any water. I live on Tifton and 27th. My house was perfectly fine. Some wind damage but nothing serious.

Seyli thanks for your post. My family lives on 27th and Tifton also and seeing your post brings water to my eyes. I am living in Tokyo, Japan now and can't describe the feeling I have inside about this whole thing. Seeing the city under water and remembering the all the places that I often drove by just tears me up inside.
I didn't get to speak to my family until Friday because of the 504 area code being out, but finally received an email from my sister and that helped to turn things around a lot.
I am currently working with a friend of mine who has a New Orleans restaurant here in Tokyo (appropriately named Bourbon Street) and we are planning to hold a charity event to send some aid to the city. We were thinking about ways to give directly to the city. Not sure if the Red Cross would be the best way especially since they have soo many funds coming in for this and to be honest who knows if it all will go to the city.
Once again thanks for the post.
